Hanover Kohl's Solar Project

In 2000 IBEW Local 229 electricians working for Ace Electric completed the original electrical construction of the Kohl's store in Hanover, PA. A decade later, IBEW 229 electricians were back on site working for Parkside Site and Utility installing a roof mounted solar array. In late October 2010, Parkside Site & Utility had notified Local 229 that they had the contract to perform the Hanover Kohls solar project and that they wanted skilled IBEW electricians to perform the work. Local 229 worked with Parkside to help them develop a competitive crew cost but also ensured high quality craftsmanship by utilizing Skilled Journeyman along with registered apprentices and construction wireman classifications. The 1400 panel solar array was right on schedule even though weather and temperature had made the working conditions unfavorable. The on site superintendent from Parkside Site and Utility gave praise to the hard work and dedication from the Local 229

" Our manager on the project, Dan, wanted me to tell you how pleased he was with the performance of the crew in less than desirable weather conditions on the job site. He has commented of how well they have been performing throughout the project, this was a performance that was above and beyond. Please extend our gratitude to the crew."  - Michael B. Stalone, Parkside Utility Construction.

Parkside plans to bid similar projects in York and Adams county knowing that they can count on IBEW 229 electricians to get the job done on time and under budget!
